E-Visa

A convenient online visa available to UK passport holders, allowing single or multiple entries for up to 90 days. The entire application is completed digitally with no embassy visit required.

Requirements

  • Valid UK passport with at least 6 months remaining validityCRITICAL
  • Digital passport-style photo (4x6 cm, white background, JPEG format)
  • Scanned copy of your passport data page
  • Valid email address for receiving the e-visa
  • Credit or debit card for online payment

Application Steps

1

Visit the official e-visa portal

Go to the Vietnam Immigration Department website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Avoid third-party sites that charge inflated fees.

2

Complete the online application

Fill in your personal details, travel information, and planned entry/exit points. Upload your photo and passport scan.

3

Pay the processing fee

Pay $25 USD for single entry or $50 USD for multiple entry online by credit or debit card. The fee is non-refundable even if the visa is denied.

4

Wait for processing

Processing typically takes 3 working days. You will receive an email notification when your e-visa is ready.

5

Download and print your e-visa

Download the e-visa PDF from the portal and print at least two copies. Present this alongside your passport at immigration.

Tips

  • 💡The e-visa portal can be unreliable during peak periods — apply well in advance and keep screenshots of your confirmation.
  • 💡Double-check that your name matches your passport exactly, including middle names. Any mismatch may result in denial at the border.
  • 💡Multiple-entry e-visas ($50) are excellent value for digital nomads who want to make day trips to Cambodia or Laos and return.
