Thailand Privilege (Elite) Visa

Thailand Privilege (formerly Thailand Elite) is a premium membership programme that grants long-term residency for 5, 10, or 20 years. It is the simplest long-stay option, requiring no employer sponsorship, age limits, or financial audits beyond the membership fee. Prices start at 900,000 THB (approximately GBP 20,000) for 5 years.

Requirements

  • Valid UK passport with at least 12 months remaining validityCRITICAL

  • Payment of the membership fee (from 900,000 THB for 5 years)
  • Completed Thailand Privilege application form
  • Passport-sized photographs and copy of passport data page

Application Steps

1

Choose your membership tier

Select from the available packages. The entry-level 5-year package starts at 900,000 THB (approx. GBP 20,000). Higher tiers offer 10 or 20 years with additional perks. Exact tiers and pricing are updated periodically — check thailandprivilege.com.

2

Submit the online application

Apply through the Thailand Privilege website (thailandprivilege.com). You will need to upload passport scans and personal details.

3

Background check

Thailand Privilege conducts a background check in cooperation with Thai Immigration. This typically takes 2-4 weeks.

4

Pay the membership fee

Once approved, pay the full membership fee by bank transfer. Instalment plans are not available for all tiers.

5

Receive your membership card and visa

You will receive a membership card and your passport will be stamped with a 5-year multiple-entry visa on arrival. Renew the stamp every 5 years.

6

Enjoy the benefits

Members receive VIP airport services (fast-track immigration, lounge access), a dedicated concierge, and an annual health check at selected hospitals.

Tips

  • 💡Despite the high upfront cost, the Elite visa works out to roughly GBP 330/month for the 5-year tier — comparable to repeated visa runs and agent fees over the same period.
  • 💡The Elite visa does not grant a work permit. You are permitted to live in Thailand but cannot legally work for a Thai employer. Remote work for overseas companies falls into a grey area.
  • 💡Membership can be transferred or, in some cases, refunded (minus an admin fee) if your plans change. Check the latest terms before purchasing.
